No matter how excitedly Kyle continued staring at him with his swishing tail and toothy grin, John couldn’t keep his grip on the reins for much longer. John’s former partner proceeded to lunge at him, attempting to embrace him and prevent him from leaving the scene of the crime. John couldn’t bring himself to separate from his best friend, who he cherished. It helped him to remind himself that Kyle had been placed in a loving family, knowing that the Smiths took excellent care of him and cherished him nearly as much as he did.
