Finally Reunited
When John looked up, Kyle was running towards the police vehicle, his face lit up with excitement at seeing his old uniform once again. John recognized Kyle immediately. They hugged out their disagreements and embraced like old friends. Once their relationship and collaboration had been revived, it was time to go to work on their projects. Kyle led the way as the two of them raced towards the tree in question. When they reached the mystery tree, John rebent the loose bark.

It was impossible for John not to be surprised by what he saw within the oak, even after all of his years on the police.
