One Week Investigation
Forensic investigators would often need approximately a week to thoroughly investigate a case like this before they can determine who the remains are that have been discovered, and how they came to be in such a horrific condition to begin with. One of the reasons they had acted so quickly to prevent John from calling reinforcements was because they had already completed the investigation before it had even began. Even though John was confused, everything seemed to have miraculously fallen into place.

After realizing that the skeleton was not genuine, the forensics experts immediately concluded that they would not be required to employ much of their talents and equipment to solve the case. It seemed as if some brilliant mind had thought that hiding this rubber skeleton within a tree would be an excellent way to trick someone. Because his former teammate Kyle had been so emphatic about its finding, the team laughed as they broke the news to John. However, John was not totally persuaded that this was an innocent circumstance.
