Free From His Leash
Taking Kyle on a long and leisurely stroll around the countryside was the Smiths’ plan for the day, which started like any other. After a short while in the neighboring woodland, they set Kyle free from his leash. However, as they continued along their usual route, Kyle decided to race off in a different way, barking at his new family to go along with him. When the Smiths saw Kyle’s face, they realized something was wrong with him immediately.

Kyle had become used to his life away from the rush and bustle of city life and the limits of his cramped lodgings, and he enjoyed it. He had discovered a degree of independence that many companion animals can only dream of. Walking with the Smiths was a highlight of Kyle’s new life, but this new worrisome event had returned him to the degree of anxiety he had left behind when he left the cops. His typically pleasant nature had instantly transformed into something more severe and harsh.
